Financial Aid

Does the Old Town School offer financial aid?

The Old Town School of Folk Music gives financial aid to both children and adults for private lessons and group classes based on financial need. You must show valid proof of family income, which must include income of parents, guardians or any other adults, in the applicant's residence. Financial aid is based on number of dependents and annual household income.

Financial aid ranges from 25% to 75% of the class cost. Any remaining balance must be paid at time of registration. If the financial aid is not used for the session it is awarded, you must re-apply for the following session.

If your child is currently enrolled in a 16-week class, the student is not eligible for financial aid until the next round of 16-week classes.

Financial aid may not be used for concert tickets or to purchase merchandise in The Old Town School Music Store.

Funds may not be transferred from one student to another. We regret that we can provide assistance for only one class per session.
